Elon Musk and Gavin Newsom Clash Over Transgender Daughter

Elon Musk is currently in a dispute with California Governor Gavin Newsom regarding Musk’s transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson.

The conflict started when Musk’s America PAC shared a clip of Newsom on “The Ezra Klein Show.” In the clip, Newsom claimed that no other governor has enacted more pro-trans legislation than he has. He made this statement while discussing the contentious topic of transgender athletes in women’s sports, which puts him at odds with some leading Democrats.

During an interview with Charlie Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, Newsom stirred things up by saying he finds it “grossly unfair” for transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports.

Newsom’s press team responded to Musk’s comments regarding the clip, criticizing him for his viewpoint.

“Yes, Elon, it’s unfortunate that your daughter hates you,” the governor’s office posted on Platform X, which Musk owns.

Musk, in response, refused to refer to Wilson as his daughter. He stated, “I believe you are referring to my son, Xavier, who has a tragic mental illness caused by an evil awakening virus that he inflicts on vulnerable children. I love Xavier very much and I hope he recovers.” He went on to mention his other daughters, claiming they love him.

Musk has previously expressed his views on transgender issues, suggesting that children are misled into making decisions about gender transition. He mentioned an experience with one of his older sons, stating he felt coerced into supporting medical decisions when he was confused and misinformed.

The CEO highlighted feelings of loss regarding “deadnames,” which refer to the names given at birth to transgender individuals. Musk expressed regret, saying, “I essentially lost my son. There’s a reason they call it a dead name.” He committed to combating what he terms as the “awakened mind virus.”
