Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the top advisor to President Trump, doubled after he visited Ukraine and accused Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) of being a “traitor” as he accused U.S. support earlier this month.
Fox News' Brett Baier asked Mask on his show “Special Report.” Why would the senator call X's traitor in response to a trip to Ukraine, and his argument that the US should not give up Ukraine in the war with Russia.
“I think someone should care more about the interests of the US than the interests of other countries. If they don't, they're traitors,” Musk replied.
Baier pointed out that Kelly is a decorated veteran, a former astronaut and a sitting senator.
“That doesn't mean he's OK to put other countries' interests on top of America,” Musk replied.
Kelly, a former US Navy combat pilot, toured military hospitals and interacted with Red Cross officials during his visit to Ukraine. He responded to Musk calling him a traitor and shared, “Eron, if you don't understand that freedom of defense is the fundamental doctrine of making America great and keeping us safe, then you should leave it to those who do it.”
Musk doubles his argument against Kelly as the Trump administration has worked to attack peace deals between Ukraine and Russia to end the war. Ukrainian President Voldy Mirzelensky visited the White House in February and became a fierce spat in an oval office when President Trump called the Ukrainian president “disrespectful” and accused Vance of not appreciating the president's help.
Musk and Kelly also discussed social media earlier this year.
Kelly and his brother Scott Kelly are also retired astronauts, calling Musk for an attack on another astronaut in X.
“Hey @elonmusk, talk to the three of us when Nerve finally got us to climb the rocket ship,” the senator wrote about the X in response to Musk's post calling Danish astronaut Andreas Morgensen a “idiot.”
