“Musk Has No Formal Decision-Making Authority, Can Only Advise”: White House

Washington:

Elon Musk's role in the Trump administration is a topic of interest, with billionaires being designated to oversee government efficiency (DOGE). However, according to a recent court filing, Musk has no decision-making power and is not an employee of Doge.

This explanation was made by Joshua Fisher, director of the White House Administration. He said that Musk's role is limited to advising the President and passing on his orders. “Like other senior White House advisors, Musk has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions on his own.”

Fisher has reiterated that in response to a recent lawsuit against Mask by New Mexico, Mask is not employed by the US Doge Service either by the US Doge Service's temporary organization.

Musk's involvement in the Trump administration was particularly important in the field of government efficiency. As a “special government employee” (SGE), Musk is tasked with identifying and eliminating “wasteful spending” across federal agencies. The effort has already led to thousands of job cuts, and has been a major focus of the Trump administration since the president began his second term last month.

Musk's powers are under legal surveillance, with around 20 cases being filed in various federal courts, challenging his involvement in government activities. There was a mixed reaction to cases in which federal judges questioned the extent of involvement in government activities.

The administration argues that while Musk advises Trump on policy issues, he lacks the formal power to implement government decisions independently.

But Musk's relationship with Trump was prominent, with the president describing him as the leader in an effort to eradicate wasted spending when he announced the division in November. Musk appeared alongside Trump from the White House to talk about government cuts, and Trump praised his efforts, saying he was giving “a great help” from the mask on Doge Drive. Trump even suggested that he would immediately ask Musk “to check with the Department of Education.”
