Musk posts support for Gaetz: 'Hammer of Justice'

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has publicly supported President-elect Trump's choice for attorney general, former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), pushing back against concerns surrounding misconduct allegations against him. .

In a statement on the social platform

“Matt Gates has three key assets needed for the AG role: a big brain, a spine of steel, and an ax to grind,” Musk said. I wrote. “He's the Judge Dredd that America needs to clean up its corrupt system and put powerful bad guys behind bars.”

“Gaetz will be our hammer of justice,” he added.

President Trump announced a series of nominees last week, including nominating Gates to the nation's top law enforcement post. The announcement surprised even many Senate Republicans, some of whom expressed concerns about the nomination.

The Ethics Commission has investigated Gaetz for years, investigating allegations of sexual misconduct and illegal drug use. He has strongly denied allegations of wrongdoing, and the Justice Department, which previously investigated whether he had sex with a 17-year-old, declined to charge him with the crime.

Musk said Tuesday that the matter was “closed and closed.”

“As for these accusations against him, I don't think they have any merit,” Musk said. Mr. Musk himself was selected by President Trump to co-lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“Under our laws, men are considered innocent until proven guilty,” he continued. “If Attorney General Garland (an unprincipled idiot) could have won a conviction against Gaetz, he would have, but we knew he couldn't. The case was solved.”

With Gaetz's resignation from Congress, the Ethics Committee no longer has jurisdiction, but could still vote to release the report.

Many lawmakers have called for the report to be made public as part of the review process for Gaetz's nomination.
