Tech billionaire Elon Musk said early Tuesday that his political action committee (PAC), America PAC, will continue to support Republicans through the midterm elections and will participate in the primaries.
“Typically, PACs go into some sort of hiatus after a big election,” Musk said. I wrote it in the post on the social platform X he owns.
“@America PAC does the opposite: We will continue our efforts to increase Republican registration in key constituencies across the country in preparation for special and midterm elections,” he continued.
“And, of course, it will play an important role in the primaries,” Musk added.
Musk's super PAC spent about $200 million to help elect President-elect Trump during the 2024 campaign, The Associated Press reported, citing people familiar with the group's spending. That's what it means.
The Associated Press reported that Musk personally donated most of that money to America PAC.
Musk became one of Trump's key surrogates on the campaign trail in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania and is expected to play an influential role in Trump's second administration.
President Trump said he would create a new government efficiency commission to be chaired by Musk.
