Elon Musk Critiques Netflix Series Amid Controversy

Billionaire Elon Musk has jumped into a debate over Netflix’s programming, particularly targeting a parental transgender-themed cartoon for kids. This outcry follows the recent criticism aimed at activist Charlie Kirk after his untimely death.

The series “Dead End: Paranormal Park” is under scrutiny after it was highlighted by the TikTok account, Libs of TikTok, which is known for its conservative perspective. They stated, “OMG. The ‘Dead End Paranormal Park’ show on Netflix is promoting pro-transgender narratives to children. This is directed towards 7-year-olds. Parents, be cautious.”

A viral clip from the cartoon featured characters depicted in a way that clearly raised eyebrows, leading Musk to respond, saying, “This isn’t okay.” His reaction has certainly added fuel to the fire of an already heated conversation.

It’s worth mentioning that Charlie Kirk had previously warned about what he termed “assassination culture” spreading among left-leaning groups before his death.

The situation escalated further when screenshots emerged of Hamish Steele, the show’s creator, who denounced British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a controversial manner following Kirk’s passing. This sparked backlash and renewed calls from some conservative users to discontinue their Netflix subscriptions.

On the day Kirk died, there were somber sentiments expressed online, acknowledging the loss to his family, with many sharing heartfelt responses.

Steele’s subsequent comments in response to criticism hinted at a larger rift, as he publicly rebuffed the idea that he celebrated Kirk’s death, claiming that people misinterpreted his words. He stated, “My Instagram is filled with replies (that I never did) celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death.”

In the midst of these discussions, it seems some users took notice of Musk’s decision to cancel his Netflix account—a choice he explicitly affirmed with a simple, “The same.”

Steele, on the other hand, has disputed the narrative that Netflix is actively pushing the show, insisting, “It’s all a lie and a slander! Netflix isn’t promoting it right now!”

“Dead End Paranormal Park” ended its run in 2022 after two seasons.

Efforts were made to contact Steele and Netflix for further comments on this unfolding story, but there has been no immediate response.
