The group disbanded, Cancelled He endorsed presidential candidate Harris Waltz after his campaign rejected an anti-Israel speaker at the Democratic National Convention.
A group of Muslim women supporting Harris-Waltz announced their decision in a statement Wednesday night, just before the final day of the convention.
“This is a terrible message to send to Democrats.”
“Given this new information from the Uncommitted Movement — that VP Harris’ team declined a request for a Palestinian-American speaker at the Democratic National Convention — we cannot in good conscience continue with the Harris-Waltz Muslim Women’s Movement.”
The Democratic Party has been destabilized by efforts by pro-Palestinian extremists to tilt the party along an anti-Israel platform, most recently with Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly caving to the movement’s demands to deny Democratic Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro the running mate.
Despite this major victory, the group made further demands regarding the tournament schedule but were reportedly rejected.
“This is a terrible message to send to Democrats. Palestinians have a right to speak out about Palestine,” the group continued. “We pray that the Democratic National Convention and Vice President Harris’ team make the right decision before the convention is over, for each and every one of us.”
Earlier in the convention, anti-Israel activists were infuriated by a speech from Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, a socialist, in which she claimed Harris had “worked tirelessly” to end conflicts in the Middle East. Activists have called on the Biden administration to halt military aid to Israel and pressure it to agree to a ceasefire.
The Democratic Party allowed families of hostages held by Hamas to speak at its convention.
“The families of the Israeli hostages who took to the stage tonight have shown more empathy for Palestinian Americans and Palestinians than our candidate or the Democratic National Committee,” said a Muslim women’s group supporting Harris-Waltz.
