According to others on the social media platform, Reddit users who embarrassed her “drunk” colleagues weren't wrong to do so.
“Aita for not expressing my punches [was] Non-alcoholic? ” Reddit users asked “Deenskees” in a recent post about the drama about Reddit's “Am I The A -Hole” (AITA) Subreddit.
In the Post, the 25-year-old said her boss recently held a potluck-style party at his home to celebrate the end of a busy season at work. “Dinkies,” she said, brought the punch she had brought to other work events before.
“This was a casual party where alcohol was present, but I didn't add alcohol to this punch because I had a colleague who didn't drink,” a Reddit user wrote.
Until a few hours later, everything was fine, she said – the older colleague she called “Sandy” began to get raucous and dramatic. The woman was also “stumbling around the party,” Ladytle wrote.
“I didn't think about it much and thought she was bringing her drink or adding host alcohol that was served to something else,” she said.
A woman called “Sandy” “suddenly fell out of the chair she was sitting in and gave a big show saying it was because she was so drunk,” Redditor wrote.
“Sandy” asked “Dinkies” what she had put in the punch, and said, “I was drinking all night,” “I really felt it.”
Confusingly, the punch maker told her it was a mixture of ginger ale, 7 up, orange juice, and juice concentrate, and was free of alcohol.
“I told her I didn't put alcohol in and asked if someone else had spiked the punch bowl,” writes Redditor.
“No one said he added anything. One of my non-drinking colleagues said they were also drinking punches all night and were still completely calm.”
“Sandy,” the Lady said, “He was the only person who was “drunk.” ”
“Then she got really quiet and went to the bathroom herself. The rest of my colleagues and I exchanged some nasty gazes and tried to laugh at it,” a Reddit user wrote.
“Sandy” quickly left the party. He then texted “Dinkies” in front of his colleagues and boss saying he was embarrassed about her.
“She has been hostile to me at work ever since and has essentially refused to talk to me,” the woman wrote on Reddit.
“I didn't think I did anything wrong and most of my colleagues agree with me, but I should continue her thinking that Punch is an alcoholic to make her embarrassed. Some people said that.”
She added: “I think I'm wrong. Aita?”
Reddit users agreed heavily with the writer's sentiment.
In more than 700 responses to her post, the majority of people said she wasn't wrong in the situation.
“Of course you're nta. Sandy was experiencing a placebo effect that wasn't unusual when he really believed people were drinking alcohol. It's embarrassing, but it's not your fault.” , reddit user said in a comment on top-up boats.
“What you really need to do is make people believe that the alcohol punch doesn't contain alcohol! It can really hurt someone,” the same user added.
Others shared additional insights.
“Now it feels like Sandy is creating a hostile work environment,” the user said. “They are looking for drama, so I'm always very wary of those people.”
And one user shared a very dull thought about the behaviour of embarrassing women at parties.
“NTA. Why she looks like the “idiot” from before [others] Because she acted like one and then tried to throw you under the bus for her actions,” the user said.
