Arizona state Senate Republican candidate Kari Lake said during an appearance that her Democratic opponent was “on the verge of becoming a full-fledged Marxist.” Breitbart News Daily Following news that Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) is not seeking re-election.
“I will be leaving the Senate at the end of this year because I choose to be civil, understand, listen, and work together to get things done,” Sinema said in a statement Tuesday. The announcement officially removes her from the Arizona Senate race, where Lake is on the Republican side and Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is on the Democratic side.
“I just don’t think there’s a path for her to win. I mean, the votes are done. I’m sure she’s finished voting. Everyone’s finished voting, but I don’t think she’s going to win. I can’t,” Lake said of the news that Sinema is not seeking re-election.
“I’m also trying to cooperate, but some of the things that she was working on…especially with the last bill, it was disastrous in terms of securing the border because we couldn’t secure the border. And the compromises. There are times when we should and times when we have to stand up and say no, and the safety and security of the American people means we cannot compromise,” the Trump-supporting candidate said.
Lake added that the American people want to send “fighters” to Washington, D.C., who will “stand up for our people and put America first.”
Additionally, Lake said his opponent Gallego “does not represent” the spirit of Arizona. He “makes Mark Kelly look conservative,” she says.
“He, along with Biden, is responsible for wide open borders and the crime wave that we’re seeing, but he wants to take away Second Amendment rights,” Lake said. “They are threatening ICE officers for carrying out their duties, including immigration enforcement,” he added. law. ”
