On Wednesday, Joe Burrow spoke publicly about the robbery at his home and his disappointment with the amount of information that was uncovered about the circumstances.
The Bengals quarterback's home was burglarized Monday night while Burrow was in Dallas for a nationally televised game against the Cowboys.
“So obviously everyone has heard what happened,” Burrow said in a statement after the team's practice. “I feel like my privacy has been invaded in so many ways, and I feel like there's so much more out there than I would like to share that I feel like it's being violated in so many ways.” That’s all I can say about it.”
News of the break-in would have been enough to make headlines, as Burrow became the latest NFL player to have his home broken into while he was at a game.
However, the story changed when an incident report revealed that it was Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Olivia Ponton who reported the incident to authorities.
While discussing the intrusion, Barrow said it was partly due to his frustration with having so much personal information made public.
“That's part of it. We live a public life, and one of the parts of it that I hate the most is the lack of privacy,” he said. “And it's been difficult for me to deal with that my whole career. I'm still learning. But I understand that it's the life we choose. It doesn't make it any easier to deal with.”
Barrow did not provide further details or updates on the situation.

Document obtained by TMZ Ponton reported the burglary around 8:14 p.m. and told officers that when he arrived at Vallow's Cincinnati-area residence, he found “a bedroom window broken and a room ransacked.” said.
The nature of Vallow and Ponton's relationship remains unclear, with the police report listing her as “employed” by Vallow.
In October, the homes of NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were broken into while the Chiefs were playing Monday Night Football.
