Myles Garrett Signs New Contract with Rams
Myles Garrett’s recent agreement with the Los Angeles Rams brings along a new contract—or, at least, an updated version of it.
According to a source close to the situation, Garrett and the Rams have decided to extend his contract, which now includes additional years and a signing bonus. However, it remains unclear whether this change also includes fresh funding.
Previously, Garrett signed a four-year extension worth $160 million with the Cleveland Browns last year. Yet, due to salary cap issues, that contract has now been stretched out to 2034.
As part of this adjustment, his salary for 2026 will rise from $31.5 million to $37 million.
Garrett is officially under contract with the Rams for the next five years.
In a recent trade, the Rams acquired Garrett from the Browns, exchanging him along with a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a conditional third-round pick in 2029 for defensive end Jared Barth.
To facilitate the move, Garrett decided to waive his no-trade clause. He seems eager to become an essential part of the Rams moving forward.
“From the very start, it’s always been about winning. At the end of the day, timing is everything,” Garrett remarked during his introduction to the Los Angeles media. “It’s about seizing the chance to be a winner now, and this opportunity was just too good to pass up.”
This new chapter certainly contrasts with his nine seasons spent in Cleveland, where he racked up 122.5 sacks and established himself as a formidable pass rusher.
“I’ve always cared for Cleveland, its community, and my teammates,” Garrett expressed. “But the chance to make an immediate impact here was too significant to ignore.”
