MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Eyes Minnesota Governor Run
Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, is contemplating a run for governor of Minnesota and has officially filed the necessary paperwork to explore this possibility. He mentioned the likelihood of making a decision soon, particularly by December 11th.
“We’re going to make an announcement on December 11 anyway,” Lindell stated, though he seemed uncertain about whether it would indeed be a definitive announcement.
If he joins the list of Republican candidates, he would be up against his fellow Republican, current Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is facing accusations from numerous state officials regarding a significant fraud scandal. They have asserted, “Tim Walz is 100% responsible for the massive fraud in Minnesota.”
According to reports, this allegation was made by over 400 individuals and shared on the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services’ social media page. The group claims they informed Governor Walz about the fraud early on, but that he retaliated against the whistleblower.
However, Lindell must first contend with other Republican contenders eager to challenge Walz. As noted by the local news, potential rivals include Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, 2022 gubernatorial candidate Scott Jensen, state Representative Kristin Robbins, businessman Kendall Qualls, and attorney Chris Madel.
Lindell is reportedly aware of the dynamics against the incumbent Democrat and has expressed confidence, saying, “If anyone is going to win, it’s going to be me.”
His close ties with former President Donald Trump could serve as a significant advantage if Lindell decides to enter the race. He has experienced the kind of censorship often associated with the MAGA movement, even being removed from the platform previously known as Twitter for alleged violations of its policies.
The Trump administration has consistently criticized Walz’s performance and the effects of his policies. During a recent Cabinet meeting, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy pointed out issues stemming from Walz’s decision-making, including the flow of illegal foreign drivers onto U.S. highways.
Recently, Trump condemned Walz for his immigration policies, using harsh language to express his dissatisfaction and claiming the governor has allowed “hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia” to alter the landscape of Minnesota significantly.
