Your report on the lengthening of Guy Delap's sentence (Just Stop Oil protester, 78, appropriate) because she “unlawfully absconded” while waiting for Serco to find her tag. Extended prison sentence due to missing tag (January 25) led to that outcome. Visit Serco's website. here it claims: “We bring together the right people, the right technology, and the right partners to create innovative solutions.” It's scary to think about what will happen if something goes wrong.

When I was 14 years old, my school report card said, “He still has the childish attitude that a student's highest art is to outdo his master and do as little work as possible.'' was. Having maintained this pose for over 50 years, I am pleased to see that it is still maintained among so many contributors to the Letters Page (January 23). What greater satisfaction could there be than outsmarting your master, no matter the circumstances?

Everything the correspondent said about writing with a pen is valid (Letters, January 24). But everything they say negatively about using the keyboard is overwhelmed by the joy of being able to easily correct and improve your own text. Plus, see it the same way your readers see it.
