Mystik Dan wins 150th Kentucky Derby in insane photo finish

Mystic Dan won the 2024 Kentucky Derby with a great photo finish.

Last year, Mage, who had only one win in his career, went 15-1 and won the first leg of the Triple Crown.

Longshot ran the 1¹/₄ mile in 2:01.57.

Mage won $1,860,000, the largest prize of his short career, but this year’s prize pool has increased significantly.

The overall pool increased from $3 million to $5 million, with this year’s winner taking home $3.1 million alone.

Last year’s Derby suffered from seven horses dying before the race.
