Nadhim Zahawi, a former prime minister under Boris Johnson, has become the latest Conservative MP to announce he will not stand in the general election again.
Mr Zahawi, who was first elected in 2010, said on Thursday: “I now feel the time is right for a new and energetic Conservative Party to represent Stratford-upon-Avon.”

Mr Zahawi was sacked as Conservative Party chair by Rishi Sunak last year after it was found that he had breached ministerial regulations by failing to declare an HMRC investigation into his tax affairs. “My success,” he added, “is working with great people. ”
