A Vietnamese tourist was caught on camera walking naked through security at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after being wanted by police to pay a fine for overstaying his visa.
According to Thailand-based outlet Viral Press, the incident involving the 34-year-old woman happened on Saturday at Manila airport in the Philippines. At least two Philippine outlets, The Manila Times and The Journal Online, identified the woman as Thuy Tran Nguyen and reported that she was completely naked while en route to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Nguyen argued about whether she had to pay a fee to leave the country she was vacationing in. She then went to the bathroom and was seen on video emerging naked a few minutes later, passing through security gates and body scanners.
“We don’t know why she did that,” Michael Ronald de Guzman, an airport police officer at NAIA Terminal 3, told Viral Press. “We heard that the woman went to immigration and was dropped off. She was supposed to board a flight to Saigon but had some issues with her visa.”

Security guards were able to stop Nguyen and then gave her clothing, food and drink. Media reports about the incident have described her as “upset,” “distraught” and “enraged.”
“She seemed a little frustrated because she couldn’t communicate in Tagalog and her English wasn’t very good,” Gen. Manuel Sequitin, deputy chief of the Security and Emergency Services Division, told Viral Press. “She only spoke Vietnamese, so we were using Google Translate to communicate with her.”

The passenger was allowed to leave the country after undergoing a medical examination and paying an overstay fee. She departed for Hanoi, Vietnam on Cebu Pacific flight 5J-744 in the early hours of June 9, according to Viral Press.
