Narissa Smith Addresses Cheating Allegations by Ex-Girlfriend
Narissa Smith is responding to cheating accusations made by her former girlfriend, DeJonai Carrington. Carrington claimed that Smith had relationships with several WNBA players, specifically mentioning Dejah Kelly and Aaliyah Nye, prior to their breakup last year.
In a nearly nine-minute Twitch video, following Carrington’s comments on Threads, Smith neither confirmed nor denied the allegations. She expressed confusion about the timing of Carrington’s claims, suggesting it was odd to bring such issues up a year later. “I mean, why put it on the internet now? It feels ridiculous, especially when you’re in a good, healthy relationship,” Smith remarked. She seemed to question why anyone would need to air such matters publicly.
Smith and Carrington began their relationship in 2020 while both played basketball at Baylor University. They later teamed up on the Wings before Smith’s trade to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Carrington, now 28, is rumored to be dating Smith’s teammate, Jackie Young. Neither have publicly confirmed the rumors surfacing since the offseason.
In her response, Smith criticized Carrington for dragging other names into the controversy, suggesting those individuals were caught off guard by the allegations. “It’s strange to mention others who really have nothing to do with us,” she said.
The reasons behind Carrington’s public statements remain unclear. Smith suggested that the drama ignited when they encountered each other at a party during the WNBA All-Star break. She recounted an incident where Carrington confronted her, leading to misunderstandings and accusations from onlookers. Smith described feeling unjustly singled out, claiming she was simply sitting quietly when the situation escalated.
Reflecting on their relationship, Smith noted that she had seen Carrington frequently and felt there was no tension until now. “It’s weird how things can shift,” she noted. According to Smith, the atmosphere of the party, combined with drinks and external pressures, might have influenced Carrington’s behavior.
In November 2025, Carrington announced their separation, stating there was no mention of infidelity. “We’re good, but we’ve grown apart,” she clarified at the time.
As the story unfolds, both players will face off on the court in Chicago when the Sky and Aces play against each other. Carrington is expected to make her debut with the Sky after recovering from a foot injury.
