Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman probably wouldn’t have responded as diplomatically as Caitlin Clark did after getting hip-checked by Chennedy Carter.
Lieberman, 65, appeared on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” on Wednesday and was asked about his reaction to the flagrant foul during Saturday’s game between the Fever and Sky.
“Well, if I was Caitlin Clark, I would have punched her in the face. I’m from New York, I would have told her to f*ck off,” Lieberman said.
“That would actually solve the problem. I’ve known Chennedy since high school in Dallas. She’s a tough kid, a really good basketball player, very physical so she’ll get after you. That’s good.”
“But where are Caitlin Clark’s teammates? I’m gonna be really pissed at them if no one tries to protect me.”
Lieberman, who played in the WNBA when it was founded later in her career and later coached the Detroit Shock, went on to say that Wayne Gretzky had strong players on his teams and that Michael Jordan had Charles Oakley guarding him when they played together on the Bulls.
“Honestly, this is bullshit. This has to get better. Indiana has to get better. Someone has to come to this kid,” he said. [defense]” Lieberman continued.

She talked about how Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods changed the economics of their respective sports when they came on the scene.
“We need to thank Caitlin Clark, a generational athlete who has brought wealth to people,” Lieberman said.
“They’re going to have generational wealth. Without her, they wouldn’t be chartering planes. They wouldn’t be on TV. I know the WNBA has worked so hard over the last 27, 28 years, and they just weren’t doing this.” [type of publicity] Together [previous] Great men.”
