Nancy Pelosi declines to respond to inquiries about the hit-and-run involving Paul Pelosi

Paul Pelosi, 86, charged with hit-and-run in Napa County, sheriff states no DUI detected.

Pelosi Avoids Questions on Husband’s Hit-and-Run

On Friday, Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker from California, sidestepped multiple inquiries regarding her husband Paul Pelosi’s recent hit-and-run incident. The situation became tense when a staff member abruptly concluded the exchange, exclaiming, “Okay, enough is enough!” This happened shortly after Fox News Digital pressed her for details related to the recent drama involving her husband.

This brief interaction took place about two weeks following a recommendation from California authorities to charge Paul Pelosi with a misdemeanor hit-and-run from a crash that occurred on July 3 in Yountville, California.

According to investigators with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, an 86-year-old man was driving a convertible when he collided with a legally parked Tesla. The collision resulted in substantial damage to both vehicles. Witnesses reported that the two cars briefly halted but then left the scene without notifying the police. Paul Pelosi’s vehicle was later found approximately 400 meters away, displaying considerable front-end damage.

Reports indicate that he admitted to deputies that he realized he had struck something but wasn’t clear on what it was. Following the investigation, the sheriff’s office suggested that the Napa County District Attorney’s Office charge him with misdemeanor hit-and-run for leaving the scene of the accident. Notably, he was not arrested, with the final decision on criminal charges resting with the prosecutor’s office.

Authorities emphasized that there was no indication of alcohol involvement, as a preliminary screening showed no alcohol in Paul’s system and no injuries were reported from the crash. In a standard procedure for older drivers involved in such incidents, he was referred to the California Department of Transportation for a driving ability evaluation.

This latest incident adds to the complications surrounding Paul Pelosi’s driving record. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge following a crash that injured another driver. His sentence included three years of probation, over $6,000 in fines, a three-month DUI education program, and a year to install an ignition interlock device in his vehicle.

Later that same year, he made headlines again after an intruder broke into their San Francisco home, attacking him with a hammer and leaving him seriously injured. The assailant, David DePaap, was eventually convicted of various charges related to that incident.

Fox News Digital attempted to get a comment from Pelosi’s office, but did not receive a response prior to publication. As a side note, it’s worth mentioning that Pelosi is set to retire at the end of this session in January, marking nearly four decades in office.
