Naomi Announces Pregnancy and Surrenders Women’s World Championship
WWE star Naomi made waves on Monday when she announced her pregnancy, leading her to give up the Women’s World Championship title.
Naomi had claimed the title by cashing in a money-in-the-bank contract during a match against Iyo Sky and Leah Ripley. She successfully defended her title at Summer Slam, winning a triple threat match involving Sky and Ripley.
Speculation about her well-being arose last week when WWE stated she couldn’t compete against Sky in a title defense, prompting talks of a potential injury. However, this was cleared up in the latest episode of “Monday Night Raw,” where she revealed her personal news.
During the show, she invited fans to look at the video board, where she appeared alongside her husband, Jimmy Uso, to share their exciting announcement: “I’m pregnant and I’m giving birth to a baby,” Naomi declared.
Back in the ring, emotions ran high as the WWE fans cheered, although Naomi seemed hesitant to let go of the championship she had fought so hard to win. She expressed her frustration to Raw General Manager Adam Pierce, saying, “My hormones are jumping like a disco. It’s not a time or a place, so I recommend putting hell out of my face.”
She mentioned that the women in the WWE locker room should be grateful to Uso, but despite the emotional moment, Naomi decided to relinquish the championship in the ring. With a laugh, she added, “On the bright side, I think bloodlines will continue with babies!”
Naomi expressed her determination to return to the title, stating, “Nine Months and Some Changes.” Even humorously, she said, “Even if I have to breastfeed my baby in my arms, I’ll come back from where I left off.”
