The Latin music festival in Napa Valley will not be happening as planned in May 2026, marking the cancellation of its third iteration.
“Regrettably, the 2026 Festival La Honda has been canceled. Anyone who bought tickets through Frontgate Tickets will receive a full refund within 30 days,” the event organizers announced. They expressed hope for future festivals and gratitude towards the supporters of La Honda.
The specific reasons for the cancellation were not detailed by the organizers, and there’s been a request for further comments from California Post.
Refunds will be processed automatically by Frontgate Tickets, the festival’s main ticketing partner. This year, attendance was expected to be around 70,000 people.
Fans were understandably upset by the abrupt news. In a Reddit thread discussing the situation, some users mentioned that perhaps high ticket prices contributed to lower sales, while others hinted at broader cultural tensions playing a role.
“Given the current political environment, it’s really not surprising that ticket sales for Latino music festivals are struggling,” one comment noted.
The festival aimed to celebrate a variety of Latin music genres, ranging from regional Mexican and reggaeton to rock, hip-hop, pop, and salsa, and was being compared to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Initially, it was set to take place on May 30th and 31st featuring big names like Mana, Iván Cornejo, J. Balvin, and Cristian Nodal. There was also a lineup that included Danny Ocean, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Los Fabrosos Cadillacs, and many more.
Curiously, the previous year saw Grupo Firme unable to perform due to visa issues stemming from the Trump administration, which led to disappointment among fans. Now, the factors behind this year’s cancellation—be it financial issues, political challenges, or something else—remain a bit unclear.
