The NASCAR Cup Series moves to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday for the Ambetter Health 400.
William Byron won the most recent race in Atlanta, earning him his first Daytona 500 victory.
Atlanta Motor Speedway was repaved in 2021 and turned into a drafting track. It’s only 1.5 miles, but the race style is similar to Daytona or Talladega.
While not as unpredictable as the plate truck, you should see more potential surprises than usual. Just like at Daytona, I’m looking to find an edge with prop bets.
Here are my favorite props from Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
NASCAR Ambetter Health 400 Prop Bet
Driver matchup: Ryan Blaney vs. Kyle Larson (-114, FanDuel)
Before Lipave, Blaney and Larson were the two best drivers in Atlanta.
Since then, they have gone in different directions as Blaney has been a perennial contender while Larson has struggled to finish.
Blaney has finished in the top 10 three times in a row at Atlanta, and has averaged a running position of 11th or higher in the last four races at Atlanta.
Larson has finished 30th or lower in three of his last four starts in Atlanta.
That seems worse than it actually is, considering how many times shipwrecks have ruined his day. Still, there’s no denying that Blaney is the better driver on drafting tracks.
We should see a strong performance from Blaney as he seeks his second championship in Atlanta. He should have no problem finishing ahead of Larson.
Award-winning manufacturer: Ford (+185, Caesars)
Ford was in prime position to win the Daytona 500 until the Big One wiped out leading contenders Joey Logano, Blaney and Brad Keselowski.
These drivers should be near the front in Sunday’s race.
We talked about Blaney’s success in Atlanta.
Logano led 140 of 260 laps in last year’s spring race and won with a last-lap pass. Keselowski took the lead at the white flag, and he finished second.
Austin Cindric and Chris Buescher are other Ford drivers to keep an eye on.
Cindric has led the Atlanta race three times in a row, and Buescher led 39 laps in last year’s summer race.
Ford fell just short in the Daytona 500, but should be the favorite to win the Ambetter Health 400.
Winning car number: 20-29 (+290, Caesars)
This prop bet locks in five drivers, but four are likely to win in Atlanta.
The group features Christopher Bell, Harrison Burton, Logano, Bubba Wallace, and William Byron.
Logano and Byron are the stars of the group.
They combined to win three of the last four races at Atlanta and led the most laps in that stretch. Logano had the car to win the Daytona 500, and Byron ended up in victory lane.
Bell has been one of Atlanta’s top prospects since Lipave.
Wallace hasn’t done as well in Atlanta, but his success at Daytona and Talladega gave me confidence.
Barton is a long shot, but Atlanta also has some surprising candidates.
Logano and Byron are the drivers to beat, while Bell and Wallace should be in contention.

Top Chevrolet cars: Corey Lajoie (+1600, bet365)
New Atlanta Motor Speedway tends to produce surprising candidates.
At this point, I don’t think many would be surprised if Lajoie enters the fray.
He will struggle to run in the top 10 most weeks, but he knows that in Atlanta, finishing fifth and fourth in the last two spring races.
The 2022 summer race was the closest he came to winning a Cup race.
Lajoie led 19 laps and nearly passed for the victory, but crashed on the final lap.
There’s stiff competition from Byron, Chase Elliott, Larson and Ross Chastain.
Still, his success in Atlanta plus the value of this prop bet makes it a great option.
