Kyle Busch Passes Away at 41

Having made an indelible mark on the NASCAR world, two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has sadly passed away at the age of 41.

On Thursday, both Busch’s racing team, Richard Childress Racing, and NASCAR issued a heartfelt announcement regarding his death.

“Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent—a generational driver. He was fierce and passionate, immensely skilled, and deeply caring about the sport and its fans. In a career spanning over two decades, Kyle not only set records for national series wins but also clinched championships at NASCAR’s highest level and nurtured emerging drivers as a Truck Series owner.”

“His sharp wit and competitive spirit fostered a strong emotional bond with race fans of all ages, creating the proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.’ Our thoughts are with Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, as well as Kyle’s parents, Kurt, and all his family, Richard and Judy Childress, everyone at Richard Childress Racing, his teammates, friends, and fans. NASCAR lost a giant of the sport today—far too soon.”

His death follows shortly after the Busch family announced he wouldn’t participate in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway due to hospitalization for a severe illness.
