Nate Robinson, whose son plays Colorado football, discusses Deion Sanders’ impact: ‘My favorite player ever’

This Robinson family certainly knows how to produce athletes, and in fact has been doing so for three generations.

Former Washington running back Jack Robinson was the first player in college football history to be named MVP of both the Rose Bowl (1982) and Orange Bowl (1985) before entering the NFL.

His son, Nate Robinson, a three-time NBA dunk contest winner who is only 5 feet 9 inches tall, also played football for the Huskies before focusing on basketball.

There is currently a third Robinson in the (soon to be abolished) Pac-12, Namir Robinson.

The third-generation Robinson plays for the Colorado Buffaloes, Washington’s conference rival, and the former NBA star has no problem with that — because his son’s head coach said he’s ” Because he’s my favorite player.”

Robinson recently told Fox News Digital that his son playing for Deion Sanders was “a blessing.” “He’s learning a lot and he’s becoming a student of the game. He’s my all-time favorite.” He’s the reason I wore No. 2. He wanted to go to Florida State University, but he ended up going. [Washington].

“Prime was that guy, brother. He was the guy I wanted to be when I was playing football. The guy I imagined myself playing like.”

Robinson even joked that he had more fun recruiting in Colorado than his son.

“If it were me, I would have signed that paper for my son. I’d be like, ‘No, this is where you’re going, brother,'” he said.
