The San Diego Padres came away with a raucous walk-off win on Monday night, but Padres fans’ blood was boiling.
San Diego was trailing by one run to the Washington Nationals when Jurickson Profar scored two runs on a ground-rule double in the 10th inning.
But it was Profar’s 0-2 pitch that had fans taking issue with it.

Hunter Harvey buzzed Profar to score.
And as the Nationals were being cleared from the field, a Padres fan interrupted outfielder Jesse Winker.
While it’s difficult to hear the entire recording, the fan can be heard calling the pitch “cheap” and “bad.” The fan also says he is 66 years old.
But Profar may have been upset about the pitch, as the Nationals’ play-by-play announcer said he was yelling toward the Nationals dugout when the ball dropped.

He noted that the intentional walk to the previous batter, Luis Arraez, made him feel “insulted.”
“Instead of looking at his teammates and celebrating, Jurickson Profar yelled into the Nationals dugout about the intentional walk that loaded the bases and challenged him in the moment, so it was dramatic,” the Nationals announcer said, noting that Winker, Ildemaro Vargas and Kavert Ruiz were standing on the warning track watching their celebration.
The benches emptied during Tuesday’s game after Lewis and Profar had briefly argued, then Mackenzie Gore threw a pitch at Profar that wasn’t ejected and Manny Machado responded with an extra-base hit.
