Main Events
Wales 0-0 Türkiye. The home side took the lead in Cardiff. Connor Roberts raced down the right wing and crossed for Aaron Ramsey, who pounced on the ball from eight yards out and headed it over the bar. In fact, on second glance, the ball had hit Ramsey's shoulder. It was a bold move, but ended rather violently.
Goal! France 1-0 Italy (Barcola 13 seconds)
Well, it didn't take long: Italy kicked off, and as they fumbled at the back, they watched in horror as Bradley Barcola stole the ball, raced down the left channel, entered the penalty area and smashed it into the goal.
So let’s get started. Let's see if the 12 teams playing tonight can add a point to their Nations League points tally today.
The team is spread across Europe. Patriotic folk music is blaring through the store. It's raining heavily in Cardiff. We're leaving in a few minutes.
France and Italy both underwhelmed at Euro 2024, each in their own unique but unremarkable way. Tonight at the Parc des Princes the journey of progress and improvement begins. Despite everything that happened in Germany, the showdown is nevertheless intriguing. The team lineup is as follows:

New Wales manager Craig Bellamy speaks to S4C. “Sorba Tomas has the energy and aggression to apply pressure and make runs in behind. He deserves his place. There was a lot of work this week, it was definitely needed and it will be exciting to see how it shows today. The combinations and link-ups. The understanding between the players. See how much they have grown in such a short time.”
Pre-match post bag. “We seem to have arrived early in Niksic, the hastily arranged venue for Monday's game against Montenegro. I'm slowly beginning to understand the hyperactivity and duality of the language formerly known as Serbo-Croatian. But I can't understand why Karl Darlow is not starting despite wearing the number 1 shirt. Any clues? And, somewhat unlikely, does anyone know of a bar showing Wales v Turkey?” – Alun Pugh
“Should Erling Haaland have chosen the country of his birth (England) instead of the country of his father? He would have been as mobile as Harry Kane at Euro 2024 and probably scored more goals” – Andy Flintoff (not that guy)
Craig Bellamy has named Aaron Ramsey as captain of his first team as Wales manager. Dan James is unavailable with a foot injury but Brennan Johnson and Harry Wilson will provide threats up front, while Neco Williams, whose goal against Turkey last November sparked Wales' 36-minute dream of automatic qualification, will start in the backline, with Nantes winger Sorba Thomas also making a return.
Turkey are the most entertaining team at the Euros (see below), but they will start without captain and Ballon d'Or candidate Hakan Calhanoglu, who is wrapped up on the bench with injury concerns. The thrilling 19-year-old superstar candidate, Arda Güler, will start in the lineup.
Finishing score: Lithuania 0-1 Cyprus. Ioannis Pittas had a chance to score for Kaunas in the 34th minute. Both teams combined had just five shots on goal, which isn't great, but it was four more than Kazakhstan and Norway had. Fasten your seatbelts.
The match in Cardiff will be a rematch of last autumn's Euro 2024 qualifier, which ended Wales' hopes of automatic qualification. If you're a masochist, you can relive the match by clicking below.

Finishing score: Kazakhstan 0-0 Norway. Premier League: The best league in the world! Premier League: Not as good as Kazakhstan! It's long been suspected, but now there's definitive proof. Erling Haaland scored seven goals in his first three games for Manchester City this season, but tonight the big man played the full 90 minutes for Norway in Almaty and didn't take a single shot on goal. QED. Ipswich Town and West Ham United will want to think it over.
