Navy parachutist crash-lands on mother and teenager during San Francisco performance: video

A Navy paratrooper crash-landed on a mother and her teenage child during a Fleet Week performance in San Francisco.

The incident occurred Sunday at Marina Green and occurred when one of the six members of the Navy Leap Frogs parachute team apparently missed the landing zone, according to KTVU.

Footage of the incident shows a Navy paratrooper carrying a banner plunging into the crowd of spectators.

According to police, both the mother and child who were hit suffered minor injuries, and the mother was taken to the hospital for a thorough examination.

“Our thoughts are with the individual and his family. Safety is our top priority,” the Navy said. told KTVU In a statement. “While we cannot immediately assess what happened, we will continue to review this incident to determine the cause.”

The paratrooper was reportedly not injured.

On the Navy's website, leapfrogs says They “held gravity-defying demonstrations across the country to demonstrate naval excellence.”
