Islamabad:
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), founder of Pakistan’s three-time prime minister and ruler, Nawaz Sharif, advises his younger brother and current prime minister, Shebaz Sharif to use all the diplomatic resources available to restore peace with India, claiming he is against taking an active position.
Both brothers met in Lahore on Sunday evening, and Shebaz explained Nawaz Sharif about the decision the government had made against India, particularly after the Indian National Security Committee (NSC) meeting to suspend the Induswaters Treaty (IWT) after the attack on Pahargam.
According to an Ians source, Shebaz Sharif detailed how his government had reciprocated New Delhi measures and closed India’s airspace. He also explained the country’s preparation to respond to any attacks by India.
“Prime Minister Shebaz told his brother and the founder of the party that the unilateral decision to suspend India’s Indus Water Treaty increased the risk of war in the region,” the source said.
Nawaz Sharif advised Prime Minister Shehbaz not to take a positive stance on the issue and to use diplomatic channels to ease tensions.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Kawaja Asif has called on India to establish an international committee to investigate the Pahargam attack, along with officials from the US, Russia, China and the UK. ”
