For McGrady and Carter, ownership is now in the family. They are cousins who played together as teammates early in their illustrious NBA careers with the Toronto Raptors.
McGrady was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017, and Carter was inducted in October.
McGrady was a seven-time All-Star, seven-time All-NBA selection and a two-time leading scorer during his 15-year career.
“T-Mac” spent his first three years in Toronto after being selected No. 9 overall in the 1997 NBA Draft. However, his All-Star seasons (seven in a row) came with four seasons with the Orlando Magic, and he was named an All-Star in three of his six seasons with the Houston Rockets.
McGrady also played for the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks, finishing his career in 2012.
Carter spent 22 seasons in the NBA, earning eight All-Star bids and two All-NBA selections. He spent most of his season with the Raptors, where he had just retired his No. 15 jersey. He appeared in 403 games with the franchise, averaging 23.4 points per game.
