NBA insider Jake Fischer joining Marc Stein’s Substack

Two of the NBA's top insiders team up.

Jake Fischer will join Mark Stein's Substack page, The Stein Line, sources told The Post.

Fisher has developed into one of the most trusted NBA insiders in recent years.

He announced in September that he would be leaving Yahoo Sports and returning to Bleacher Report to contribute video content earlier this fall.

His work will be published in “The Stein Line.''

Stein was a top NBA insider at ESPN for many years before being laid off in 2017.

He then worked for several years at the New York Times.

In 2019, Stein received the Basketball Hall of Fame's prestigious Kurt Gordy Media Award, which recognizes writers and broadcasters.

Stein launched a Substack page in 2021.

Subscription costs $8.99 per month or $50 per year.

The newspaper was unable to reach Stein and Fisher for comment.

The past few months have been a tumultuous time for NBA insiders.

Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania have been competing at the top level of the scoop game for years, after previously being mentor and mentee.

Wojnarowski left ESPN to become GM of his alma mater, St. Bonaventure, and Charania replaced him at ESPN after working at The Athletic, Stadium and FanDuel.

The newspaper previously reported that fellow senior news breaker Chris Haynes has left TNT Sports and is now a free agent.
