Bible Museum Displays Sneakers by Jonathan Isaac

The Bible Museum in Washington, DC, recently unveiled its inaugural exhibition featuring sneakers inspired by faith, designed by Orlando Magic Forward Jonathan Isaac. He introduced his Judas 1 sneakers, part of his apparel brand, Unitas, during an event at the museum on Tuesday night.

On Instagram, Isaac shared, “The @weareunitus Judah 1 will officially live on as the first basketball sneakers showcased @museumofbible.”

He expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you! You’re all around my family and unite team—Jesus! This wouldn’t exist if He hadn’t given Himself to me and all of us first!”

Isaac also hinted at future plans, stating, “This is just the beginning! We can’t wait for Judas 2 to arrive soon.”

As reported by Christian Post, the Judas 1 sneakers are part of the museum’s “Bible Influences” display. This aims to illustrate how the Bible has impacted various facets of life, including art and education. Notably, the sneakers feature a Bible verse, Proverbs 28:1, which reads, “No one pursues evil, but the righteous is as bold as a lion.”

Isaac, who has been with the Magic for six seasons and faced two years of recovery from a significant knee injury, gained attention in 2020 for standing during the national anthem before a game in the midst of Black Lives Matter protests. In 2023, he launched his brand, Unitus, after Nike severed ties with him due to his injury.

In a conversation with Christian Post, Isaac shared his mission of using his brand to inspire Christians to stand firmly in their beliefs. “It’s not just about pushing God onto others,” he clarified. “It’s about being authentic, elegant, and loving others. However, when conflicts arise with cultural views, I believe we must stand firm in Christ.”

Reflecting on his journey, Isaac, a former Florida State University student, described it as an honor to feature his sneakers at the museum. “It’s wrapped in heritage and God’s goodness,” he mentioned.

He added, “If Jesus doesn’t return soon, my children and grandchildren can visit the Bible museum and remember their granddad, and say, ‘Our granddad did everything for God’s honor and glory, right here in this museum.’”
