About 1,500 people attended an evangelistic rally at Texas A&M University's Corpus Christi campus last Thursday, and dozens of students were baptized.
“Last night, we had about 1,500 students at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. 62 were water baptized. It was a powerful testimony.” Written New Life Church pastors Michael and Bonnie Fehlauer posted the following on their joint Facebook account last week.
“Many have been physically healed and saved! Jesus is Lord… and He is returning,” they added.
“We are honored to be recognized as a part of the community,” said Tarik Whitmore, pastor of New Life Young Adult Church, on Tuesday. Christian Post He preached the following message at the meeting: Isaiah 6: “The assurance, purification, and appointment that follow a true encounter with God.”
“Then came testimonials from students and former students about how God has saved them, delivered them, healed their bodies and now is using them to change the lives of others,” Whitmore recalled.
“Once the altar was opened, an invitation was given to confess faith in Jesus through water baptism, receive prayers for healing, and receive prayers for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”
Whitmore also said that CP event organizers witnessed “many people touched by the power of God,” including some who “wept spontaneously and trembled” and some “as they came out of the baptismal waters.”
“The evening continued with students and young people sharing real-time testimonies of salvation, healing, deliverance and being filled with the Holy Spirit,” he explained.
“The evening ended with a commission to those who wanted to be used by God on college campuses. All declared, 'Here I am. Send me.'”
Last September, New Life Similar gatherings The event took place on the Corpus Christi campus, with approximately 1,000 students in attendance and over 100 baptized.
Whitmore told CP that he believes the “biggest difference” between both events is the “increased presence of the Holy Spirit” compared to last year.
“We've seen an increase in physical healings, deliverance and baptism in the Holy Spirit,” he noted. “Many of those who were baptized last year also attended. And many of those who attended last year are leading and serving this year.”
A few days before last week's outreach, about 1,000 people attended a Christian revival meeting on campus led by the Ohio State football star.

“Words cannot express how amazing this Easter celebration of Jesus was on the Ohio State University campus. Countless participants committed their lives to Jesus Christ and professed their faith through water baptism.”
