A Nebraska couple’s wedding day photos were disrupted by a tornado that appeared to be an uninvited guest.
Photographer Alyssa Wallace captured the couple, Austin and Haley Bode, locking lips after they were married on July 19.
An ominous funnel cloud looms in the background.
“Someone said there was a tornado behind us, and I thought, ‘Oh my God,'” Wallace said. Told Cologne.
“And our first reaction wasn’t, ‘Should we evacuate?’ It was, ‘We’re from Nebraska, let’s go run out into the street and take pictures of the bride and groom on their wedding day,'” she said.

Local meteorologist Bill Rentschler told the outlet that while it may not technically be a “tornado” because photos show the funnel cloud not touching the ground, it was “definitely a funnel” as confirmed by the National Weather Service that day.
“This is a great wedding photo. Definitely better than any I had taken at my wedding,” he joked.
Ms Wallace said the photos perfectly represented the experience of an unforgettable day that the bride and groom will cherish forever.
“Capture beautiful moments for the bride and groom, and that’s the beautiful collection of images we took throughout the day – memorable moments, putting on the dress, detail shots, first kisses, everything,” Wallace says. Told Cologne.
“But experiential photography is, ‘Here’s the complete story of what was going on behind the scenes,’ and it captures the emotion. That was part of the day. And it was a beautiful day,” she added.
Wallace believes it’s the perfect shot of the Bose family’s love.
“There’s a tornado swirling around them, but all that matters is the love they have for each other,” she says. “I think it really shows the bond they have.”
