Nebraska women’s volleyball star Harper Murray was charged with driving under the influence, police announced Friday.
Lincoln police observed Murray committing multiple traffic violations around 12:45 a.m. local time. Officers conducted a traffic stop and said they suspect Murray was driving under the influence.

Police said Murray’s BAC was 0.169. Nebraska’s legal limit is 0.08.
The department said Murray was in possession of a false ID and failed to comply with multiple instructions from officers. She was charged with DUI, her first offense, as well as careless driving, underage possession, possession of a false ID and interfering with a peace officer.
She was released from police custody. Her arrest was featured on a Lincoln Police blotter.
A spokesperson for the Nebraska Department of Athletics told Cologne TV that they are aware of the incident and are awaiting further information.

Murray had a great freshman year with the Cornhuskers.
He was named to the AVCA All-America Third Team and also to the All-Big Ten Conference First Team and All-Freshman Team. She had double-digit kills in 23 games.
She also had the most kills per set (3.23) by a Cornhuskers player since Kady Rolfsen in 2013.

Before arriving at Nebraska, she was named the 2022 National Gatorade Player of the Year and Michigan Volleyball Player of the Year. She helped the U.S. U-19 team win a gold medal at the 2022 Pan-American Cup.

The Cornhuskers set a world attendance record last August when 92,000 fans watched the team play Omaha at Memorial Stadium.
