Netflix is thinking about bringing back 'The Crown' for a special on ex-Prince Andrew's troubles, according to a report.

Hollywood appears eager to depict the fallout surrounding former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor due to his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, with Netflix leading the charge.

Reports suggest that the streaming giant is contemplating a limited revival of the Emmy-winning series The Crown, focusing on Mountbatten-Windsor’s public disgrace.

A source referenced recent events as “historic and unprecedented,” noting the prince’s arrest on February 19.

“There have been ongoing discussions with Left Bank Pictures about producing special episodes centered on royal scandals and drama,” the source elaborated.

They further indicated, “While the original series has concluded, there are talks about a limited series under The Crown banner that would delve into Andrew’s narrative, potentially featuring dramatic elements surrounding Princess Diana’s abdication and death.”

The Crown was on air for six seasons from November 4, 2016, to December 14, 2023, achieving an impressive total of 21 Emmy Awards during that period.

Disney Studios and Amazon MGM are also reportedly exploring projects tied to the Mountbatten-Windsor saga.

A source from Disney remarked on the influx of screenwriters eager to portray this story, adding that there’s a competitive race in Hollywood to release the first film about Andrew.

Jeremy Bulloch, the screenwriter of Amazon MGM’s The Very Royal Scandal, confirmed that Netflix and Amazon are “100 percent” engaged in discussions to produce a drama based on this scandal.

Netflix has yet to respond to inquiries regarding these developments.

The former prince was arrested last Thursday — his 66th birthday — under suspicion of misconduct in office, specifically for allegedly forwarding confidential documents to Epstein.

This arrest reportedly followed a complaint made to Thames Valley Police in January.

If convicted, he could face severe penalties, including up to life imprisonment.

After spending approximately 11 hours in custody, during which he underwent standard jail procedures including fingerprinting and DNA collection, he was released looking visibly distressed.

King Charles expressed “deep concern” about the allegations following his brother’s arrest. “Let me be clear: the law should take its course,” he stated. While advising the public not to expect further comments from him during this ongoing process, he reassured that his family would continue their duties and service.

In the wake of the arrest, the British government is reportedly considering introducing legislation to remove Andrew from the throne.
