The Nets continue to fill and restructure their front office, with general manager Sean Marks hiring Justin Bochmeyer as the new director of basketball operations.
The news was first reported by The Athletic and confirmed by The Post.
Bochmeyer, who was involved in development programs in the NBA and MLS, will replace the departing Ryan Gisriel.
The latter departed for Charlotte in a move first reported by the Post.
He was officially named the Hornets’ vice president of basketball operations on Thursday.
Bochmeyer, a West Point graduate who spent 11 years on active duty in the Army, including a stint in Iraq, has a diverse background, much like that of Spanish-born Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez.
Bochmeier worked in international basketball operations for the NBA.
From 2018 to 2022, he helped coach the NBA Academy program and was a key figure in the creation and launch of the Basketball Africa League.
In August 2022, he was appointed as the first general manager of MLS NEXT, a soccer league development program.
But now he’s back in basketball, but with the Nets instead of the NBA.
Bochmeyer is a native of the San Diego area and was a professional lacrosse player. Nets owner Joe Tsai lives in La Jolla, California, and is a professional lacrosse team owner and enthusiast.
