Their aspirations took a hit when the lottery results placed them at the eighth overall pick. However, they might still be looking to begin a rebuild with a Duke forward: Kon Knueppel.
Brooklyn appears to have a strong interest in Knueppel, as indicated by recent predictions from ESPN and Bleacher Report about their potential draft choice. Scouts have mentioned that Knueppel could be a valuable addition if he remains available at that spot.
“I’m quite fond of Duke’s Knueppel,” former 76ers scout Mike Vandegard commented. “He’s more one-dimensional, and players like that typically don’t go in the top six; they start to be considered around the eighth pick.”
“Is he a solid player that would excite you to have on your team? Absolutely. But, is he on the same level as Luke Kennard? Or Kyle Cober? Those are the questions.”
