Nets ripped by Pacers as fading Play-In hopes take another hit

INDIANAPOLIS — This road trip won’t end soon for the Nets. Their slim play-in hopes may be over before this trip is over.

Brooklyn lost to the Pacers 121-100 in front of a crowd of 17,009 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Nets (26-41) squandered a chance to move up the standings as they chased the last play-in spot in the Eastern Conference.

Even though the struggling Hawks lost three straight games, they still trailed Atlanta by three and a half games.

With just 15 games remaining, their chances are quickly shrinking from minuscule to minuscule.

Especially if Mikal Bridges can’t break out of whatever slump he’s facing.

The Nets were very good in this game Saturday night, losing just 70-68 midway through the third quarter.

However, he surrendered the nine unanswered points, and from there he surrendered the demon gate.

They capitulated as usual, falling behind by 27 points in the fourth.
