Posted by Neuralink live stream on X features Noland Arbaugh, the first person to use Neuralink technology, which allows you to control computers with your thoughts.
In Wednesday’s video, Arbaugh said he was 29 years old and was paralyzed from the shoulders down as a result of a “diving accident” about eight years ago.
He demonstrated the ability to use Neuralink technology to move a cursor on a computer screen and play chess.
Then, at the request of a Neuralink engineer who also appeared in the video, Arbaugh paused the music that was playing.
In an apparent reference to “Star Wars,” Arbaugh described the experience of using the technology as “applying force to a cursor.”
“It’s crazy, it really is,” Arbaugh said. “Awesome.”
He said he used Neuralink technology to play the game Civilization VI. He also said that he likes reading and learning languages, and has been studying Japanese and a little French.
Arbaugh said that while the technology is “not perfect” and has “some issues” and there is still a lot of work to be done, the technology “has already changed my life.”
He said he participated because he wanted to help and be a part of something he thought would “change the world.”
In late January, Elon Musk announced that Neuralink implants had been placed in humans.
“The surgery was very easy,” Arbaugh said in a video Wednesday.
He thanked Neuralink for its work.
Elon Musk shared a video. Tweet, “@Neuralink’s livestream demonstrating “telepathy” that allows you to control computers and play video games just by thinking. ”
