Andrew Tate Faces New Charges Amid Extradition Battle
Andrew Tate, who has been accused of rape, is now facing additional allegations related to the possession of child pornography. This comes as he and his brother continue to resist extradition from the U.S. to the U.K.
The British Crown Prosecution Service has charged the 39-year-old influencer with 19 new offenses concerning “indecent images of children and extreme pornography,” according to reports.
Tate, a former kickboxer, is also dealing with seven new counts of rape, as well as three counts each of sex trafficking and assault. His brother Tristan, aged 38, faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of sex trafficking.
These new charges involve four different accusers and span from July 2010 to August 2017.
In a recent appearance in federal court in Miami, the brothers’ lawyers indicated they would contest the extradition process. Dressed in light brown prison uniforms and restrained, they acknowledged the judge’s questions with a simple “Yes, sir.”
Documents from Bedfordshire Police allege that the brothers engaged in violent acts against women, including strangulation and, in some cases, rape until the victims lost consciousness.
One woman reported that Andrew attacked her in her home, claiming he strangled her to the point where she feared for her life. Additionally, a woman who dated Tristan between 2012 and 2013 accused him of frequent physical abuse, including strangulation and using a belt to whip her.
After the court session, attorney Joseph D. McBride asserted his clients’ innocence to reporters. He expressed strong objections to the extradition, labeling it a “political kidnapping” and anticipated that a ruling would take around 60 days.
Currently, both brothers are reportedly in solitary confinement in Miami as they await their next court date on July 27.
Andrew already faces 10 charges, which include three counts of rape and various other serious allegations, while Tristan had 11 charges brought against him following his brother’s arrest.
Having lived in Romania since 2016, both brothers are involved in other ongoing investigations linked to human trafficking, rape, organized crime, and money laundering.
The ultimate decision regarding their extradition rests with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, given that they hold dual U.S. and British citizenship.
