I've returned from the longest cruise that took 22 days. It was 2 11 days behind sailing and I wasn't alone as our 166 stayed on board to do the same (it's a lot, FYI). I'll sum up completely over time, but what about the busy week summary that I've seen in the blog for now:
It's very interesting to see airline lounges tied together “one” to each other in 2025. Although it appears that the number of lounges on domestic airlines has been declining recently, the same cannot be said about the opening of new card lounges. Look at the two latest things coming online.
Are you less than 5/24 in Chase? What does 5/24 mean? Which cards do I qualify if I need to consider? Look at the cards Chris made.
Let's face it – travel can be expensive. But you use points to reduce that cost, and in some cases it's not. Capital One has regained promotions worth at least $1,000 on the trip.
It appears that everyone is traveling in 2025. Many of these, now more frequent flyers, seem to be triggered very easily by things that shouldn't. Below is a list of these and why they're wrong about how frequently travelers get upset when doing these things.
Cruise ships are simply packed in 2025. Not to mention privacy, finding deck chairs on board is almost impossible. However, the NCL has a way to gain both luxury and privacy for a modest upcharge. Look and compare it to the adult-only area of many NCL ships.
Chris and I get a lot of free “things” from the airlines and hotels? How about free trips? Do I pay for reviews? This is the answer.
Finally, after a series of recent aviation accidents, are you afraid to fly? If you're not afraid, are you at least more worried than before? Readers chime.
Next week, here in South Bend, the forecast is warm temperatures and this snow blanket that welcomed me after the cruise was gone will be winter again this season. I'm ready to start on a Saturday in March and my wife is ready to cover our kitchen table with seeds to plant all kinds of good things in May. I'm ready for spring – come soon! – Rene
