Oreo’s Thanksgiving-Inspired Cookie Collection Launches, Gets Mixed Reactions

Some Oreo enthusiasts are excited, while others are less than thrilled. Recently, the cookie brand rolled out a unique set of cookies designed to evoke the flavors of Thanksgiving. This collection includes Turkey & Gravy, Sweet Potato, Creamed Corn, Apple Caramel Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Cranberry Sauce flavors.

Available exclusively on Oreo’s website for $19.99, these limited-edition cookies sold out within just a week of their release.

The 12-pack of flavored fudge-covered cookies represents an experimental “test and learn” initiative by Oreo, aimed at gathering honest consumer feedback.

When the announcement hit Instagram, immediate reactions trickled in from fans. Some were enthusiastic, while others took a humorous angle with their comments.

“Turkey, stuffing, and creamed corn? Hmm, maybe those two flavors come through,” one user expressed on a food review account post. Another user jokingly added, “Who asked for this? You’re going to jail.”

There were even comments on what flavors should have been prioritized, with one person mentioning “obviously pecan pie, apple pie, chocolate pudding pie…” before focusing on the actual flavors offered.

Yet, there were mentions of the collection being “cursed” or “going too far.” A sentiment shared by some was that, despite initial disgust, a curiosity lingered: “It’s disgusting. I want to try it,” proclaimed one individual.

Others were intrigued by the idea of tasting flavors like creamed corn and turkey, asking how exactly these flavors were chosen.

“I literally went and bought this as soon as I saw this post,” revealed another fan, while some were drawn to the novelty of the collector’s tin.

However, the price was a concern. The $19.99 cost was tempting, but shipping nearly doubled that expense, frustrating some buyers. “It’s not bad, but then there’s a shipping charge of $24!” one noted.

Despite the setback of the collection selling out quickly, two flavors, Pumpkin Pie and Apple Caramel Pie, remain available for $14.99 in packs of six. The website also features traditional options like blueberry pie and apple pie a la mode.

This Thanksgiving-themed release adds to Oreo’s history of adventurous, limited-edition cookies, previously including flavors like Swedish Fish, Wasabi, and even Hot Chicken Wing.

Oreo has yet to provide further comments on the overwhelming response.
