New FBI File Uncovers Bribery Allegations Involving Bidens

WASHINGTON – A file from the FBI, set to be released by Senator Chuck Grassley on Tuesday, brings to light additional bribery allegations involving Hunter Biden and former President Joe Biden that may not have been thoroughly investigated.

This file documents interviews conducted in 2017 and 2019 with a confidential informant. The informant provided insights into a foreign bribery “scheme” connected to Mykola Zlochevsky, the head of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, as reported in copies reviewed.

The allegations suggest that Zlochevsky attempted to bribe the then-President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. Furthermore, it was claimed that Joe Biden met with Poroshenko to “protect his son’s interests” and that he was involved with Zlochevsky, who was compensating Hunter around $1 million annually from May 2014 to April 2019.

The former vice president reportedly had support from U.S. intelligence officials in these efforts. According to one entry in the file, “[T]WO CIA officers have taken Zlochevsky to the office of Yuriy Lutsenko, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General.”

Lutsenko served in this role from May 2016 to August 2019. The file further claims that the CIA indicated Zlochevsky was under protection by the U.S. and pressured Lutsenko to cease any investigations into him.

Details within the 2019 file also suggested that a merger involving Burisma and Texas-based Cub Energy Inc. was a part of a lucrative arrangement implicating Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and their business associates Devon Archer and Chris Heinz Kelly.

Grassley emphasized the importance of understanding what actions the FBI took regarding these allegations. “We’re not saying the allegations are true. We want to know what the FBI did to fully investigate their truthfulness or lack thereof,” he stated.

These business dealings were reportedly part of a wider “money laundering scheme” involving Russian intermediaries in Ukraine and connections to prominent figures, including Poroshenko and Vladimir Putin.

Another entry from the file stated that “Joseph Biden will ‘take care of’ Burisma,” with additional notes detailing the involvement of the Russian Foreign Intelligence agency in manipulating American elites.

In July 2023, Grassley shared a different FBI informant file suggesting that investigations into Burisma by Ukrainian Prosecutor Victor Shokin were obstructed by Biden, who pressured officials to dismiss him under threat of withholding U.S. loan guarantees.

To this day, Grassley noted, the FBI has yet to clarify what evidence was investigated, despite various claims of information tied to the Biden family.

Grassley, in conjunction with Senator Ron Johnson, obtained and released these files. He affirmed the existence of multiple informants providing insights into potential criminal activities involving the Bidens.

“I want to know what the FBI did to fully investigate their truthfulness,” he reiterated, shedding light on the need for accountability.

A previous informant, Alexander Smirnov, admitted to fabricating details about bribery. Despite this admission, he faced no charges related to Hunter Biden’s tax evasion case.

The 87-page Senate report highlighted Joe Biden’s prominent role in Ukraine, coinciding with Hunter and Archer’s positions at Burisma.

After leaving the Obama administration, Hunter’s salary from Burisma was reported to have halved, adding further complexity to the situation surrounding the Biden family and their business involvements.

A wire transfer tied to Hunter surfaced, indicating a luxury vehicle purchase linked to a private company in Singapore. The source of this transaction remains under investigation.

Attempts to reach out to a representative for the Bidens, as well as the CIA and FBI, have not yielded immediate responses.
