New frightening information comes to light as accused surgeon Michael McKee is charged with the murder of his ex-wife and her husband in Ohio.

Michael McKee, a surgeon facing murder charges, is accused of using a silencer to kill his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her new husband in their Ohio home last month, as detailed in court documents.

Newly disclosed information about the heinous double murder surfaced on Friday when a grand jury in Franklin County indicted the 39-year-old on four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated robbery related to the December 30 deaths of Monique and Spencer Tepe.

The allegations include that McKee utilized an automatic firearm with a silencer when he reportedly broke into the couple’s home in Columbus late at night, fatally shooting them in their bedroom while leaving their two young children, aged four and one, in another room unharmed.

More than a week later, McKee was apprehended in Rockford, Illinois—around 525 miles away—after police managed to trace his vehicle back to the scene of the crime.

Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant described the incident on Wednesday as a “targeted” act of domestic violence, revealing that authorities had recovered a weapon thought to have been used in the shooting of Monique, who had been married to Spencer for two years.

Monique, also 39, filed for divorce from McKee in 2017, ending their short marriage.

Although records indicate the divorce was amicable, Monique’s family has since alleged that McKee subjected her to emotional abuse during their time together. “Many of us were aware of the negative influence he had on her,” said a family member on ABC News’ “Good Morning America.”

She added, “She was desperate to escape.”

Monique did not have children with McKee but married her second husband, Spencer, 37—a noted local dentist—in December 2020, as noted in her obituary.

As of now, no motive for the crime has been established.

McKee, who has medical licenses in both Illinois and California, appeared in court on Monday but did not enter a plea.

He remains in jail, awaiting extradition to Ohio to face trial.
