Ciattarelli Receives Support from Operating Engineers Union
Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican candidate for governor in New Jersey, has gained the endorsement of the International Federation of Operating Engineers (IUOE) 825, which represents over 7,000 members statewide.
Greg Lalevee, the business manager for IUOE 825, mentioned that New Jersey is currently “at a crossroads,” grappling with an “affordability crisis,” a general lack of common sense in governance, and issues highlighted by the “New Jersey Globe.” He emphasized that Ciattarelli, who secured victory in the state’s Republican primary earlier this June, truly “understands New Jersey” and knows “what we need to do to fix it.”
He affirmed that “Jack Ciattarelli comprehends what New Jersey needs to achieve greatness.”
According to IUOE 825, based in Springfield, New Jersey, the union has around 7,500 members who operate a variety of heavy machinery, from cranes to bulldozers.
Lalevee also criticized Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill, noting that Ciattarelli is enthusiastic about job creation through support for projects involving natural gas and solar initiatives aimed at meeting “national energy needs.”
Lalevee dismissed Sherrill’s “solar bank” proposal as a viable solution for the state’s energy concerns. “To think we can achieve energy independence without natural gas is unrealistic,” he remarked, expressing skepticism about relying solely on solar energy.
Cheryl from NJBIZ reported that under Sherrill’s leadership, New Jersey aims to develop a clean and resilient energy future with reduced costs. She mentioned plans to enhance warehouses and commercial solar projects, paving the way for more accessible clean energy sources.
“We can transform underutilized areas like reclaimed land, brownfields, and parking lots into affordable energy assets,” Sherrill stated.
