Jets first-round pick Will McDonald in the 2023 NFL Draft takes time for a Q&A with The Post’s Steve Sarvey.:
Q: Which quarterback are you looking forward to firing?
A: Everything. All quarterbacks in the league should be sacked. That’s my way of thinking now.
Q: Do you hate quarterbacks?
A: I love quarterbacks. I love sacking quarterbacks. I love stripping the ball from quarterbacks. Because it makes my job easier and offensive job easier.
Q: How good are you at trash talking?
A: I always trash talk (laughs). I’m never on the field and I don’t like trash talk.
Q: What’s great about Aaron Rodgers?
A: He is GOATy. I’ve been watching him since 2008 how he plays games and how he operates. He has a lot to look forward to learning from him.
Q: You played with Breece Hall at Iowa State University, what makes him so special?
A: He’s very elusive, very fast, strong and quick. He has everything in his package.
Q: Describe your mentality on the field.
A: Me to me. Losing lets me know that I need to work on my technique and love my game more. Like thousands of people, I don’t want to be in front of 50 people and just get hit on the field. I like to keep my pride. It’s really like me vs him, but it’s really a me vs me way of thinking.
Q: What’s so great about Sack?
A: Just getting the ball out when you sack it feels really good, especially if you pick it up and score. Big stops, third downs, and potential game changers.
Q: Describe your changes on the field.
A: I’m talking…you’ll hear a few words from me. My mentality is just like killing. I don’t feel bad for anyone. I’m trying to reach the highest possible physical version of myself. Once I can do that, I feel like if I keep getting one more percent better, I’ll be in the Hall of Fame.
Q: Do you think you can make an impact as a newcomer?
A: I’m sure I can make an impact as a rookie. Follow all the veterans and learn a lot from them.
Q: Please tell me about the (older brother) older brother (Quantie) who looks down on you right now.
A: He actually died of fentanyl…genuine like a happy man, goofy, always outgoing…acted kinda like me. I got ADHD — just doing something all the time. My brother is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Q: How did you find out he died?
A: I got a call from my father. Then he gave me the news.
Q: How was your college days?
A: Yes, it was about five days after my birthday.
Q: How was that moment?
A: I couldn’t believe it at first. We persevered and persevered.
Q: What is the meaning of butterfly tattoo?
A: Every time I see a butterfly, I think of him.
Q: Please tell us about your mother.
A: She acts like me. Every earring, every chain, we were both terrified. Really goofy person, goofy personality, very outspoken. she is a model she’s a really cool person.
Q: Have you ever jumped over a parked car, do you think you can jump over a stretch limousine?
A: Horizontally, or… yes, of course you can. I feel like I can do it.
Q: But those days are over.
A: I don’t do that anymore.
Q: How was working at McDonald’s and how much do you earn?
A: I think it was $7.50 or $8.50. I was at the cash register, at the window, cleaning and mopping.
Q: How hard was it to grow financially?
A: It’s very difficult. My father and mother took care of us in any way they could. We were poor, but we still managed to put some food on the table. They always made sure we were fed and had at least some clothes on.
Q: How good were you at basketball?
A: I could have probably done something like D II and then proceeded to DI.

A: I’ll give you an A.
Q: Why?
A: I feel like I was chosen for a reason. They trust me throughout the process and look at my resume. I will definitely come here, do what I have to do, learn from everyone, and aim to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Q: Any message for Jets fans?
A: We don’t want to disappoint anyone. I am happy to be in this city and play big. I never let anyone down, and I’m going to get one percent better every day.
