New Mexico’s Alamogordo Police Department (APD) announced Friday that they responded to reports of theft at a business Thursday and alleged that the suspect sexually assaulted an employee.
APD identified the suspect as “21-year-old Isaiah Rashaun King, an active-duty United States Air Force member” and said that he was taken into custody in a press release. (RELATED: Former Border Patrol Agent Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting, Abducting Minor)
APD said that their investigation was aided by “the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and law enforcement personnel from White Sands Missile Range.”
“Mr. King was incarcerated and is being charged with Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Penetration, Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Attempted Criminal Sexual Penetration, Battery, and Larceny,” the press release reads.
The Holloman Air Force Base released a statement on the incident that acknowledged that “an Airman assigned to the 49th Wing, Holloman Air Force Base was arrested in Alamogordo” on Thursday and that they were cooperating with the police in the matter, KOAT reported.
“On September 19, 2024, an Airman assigned to the 49th Wing, Holloman Air Force Base was arrested in Alamogordo, NM. We are not able to provide details of the incident due to an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Alamogordo Police Department with cooperation from Air Force Office of Special Investigations,” the 49th Wing Public Affairs office told the Daily Caller. “For questions, please contact APD.”
The Holloman Air Force Base is home to the 49th Wing and “supports national security objectives by deploying worldwide to support peacetime and wartime contingencies,” according to the air base’s website. The base was established in 1942 and named after Col. George Holloman, an early pioneer in rocket and remote aircraft piloting research, in 1948, the website notes. Around 21,000 personnel and their family members live on the base.
