Police in New Mexico say two suspects have been charged with three counts of unpublished murder after a massive shooting at the park that left three dead and 15 wounded.

Las Cruces police said 20-year-old Thomas Rivas and the 17-year-old were arrested Saturday evening. The victims who died in the Friday evening shooting at Young Park are identified as Andrew Madrid, 16, Jason Gomez, 18, and Dominic Estrada, 19.

Police say Madrid and Gomez died at the scene, while Estrada died after being taken to hospital.

Fifteen victims ranging from 16 to 36 years old were injured. Nine are men and six are women, police added that they will not disclose their names to “protect privacy.” The surviving victim's medical condition has not been released.

Filming took place at an unauthorized car show around 10pm.

“Previous investigations have revealed that there has been an argument between two groups of people and the argument has escalated into a shootout between both groups,” Rus Cruce Police Chief Jeremy Story told reporters at a press conference.

Rivas has been booked at the Doñaana County Detention Center and is currently not held. The juvenile suspect was taken to a juvenile detention facility. Police say additional charges are pending against the two.
