New Orleans truck attack terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar acted alone: FBI

FBI Assistant Director Christopher Raia acknowledged Thursday that Shamsud Din Jabbar acted alone in the horrific New Year's Eve truck attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans that killed 15 people and injured dozens more.

Speaking to reporters Thursday morning, Raia called the incident an “act of terrorism” and a “premeditated and evil act.”

FBI Assistant Director Christopher Reia said Jabbar rented a Ford F-150 truck in Houston, drove to New Orleans and, between 1:29 a.m. and 3:02 a.m., allegedly committed support for ISIS. He posted five videos on social media making the declaration.

He also said that Mr Jabbar had drafted a will and that investigators had so far recovered two laptops and three mobile phones.

Laia also said there was a direct link between the New Orleans attack and the Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, despite the direct link between the suspects in both attacks. “There is no definitive connection,'' he said.
