New poll shows Tim Walz is failing to help Kamala Harris win Minnesota

While the media has been busy portraying Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as “down-to-earth,” Minnesotans are in no rush to join the Democratic candidate.

That's according to a new poll that shows independents are flocking to former President Donald Trump, despite Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris' lead in the state.

“If you want to crack open a bottle of champagne, just pop the cork. Don't do it.”

In a key state where Democrats hold a 7 percentage point advantage in voter registration, Harris' lead has shrunk from 5 percentage points to just over 4 percentage points in just two weeks, according to a Minnesota Post-Embold Research poll.

Among voters who identify as independents, 40% said they would vote for Trump, while just 23% said they would support Harris, giving the former president a 2-to-1 advantage.

New York Post attention Unless something changes to improve Harris' standing in the state, it could become a dark horse battleground state in November.

Some polling experts say Trump has historically underperformed in the polls, in part because his supporters have been reluctant to participate in polls. Democratic strategist James Carville Warned Democrats believe that unless Harris wins the popular vote by more than three points, Republicans are likely to win on Election Day.

CNN polling analyst Harry Enten agreed.

“The bottom line is, if you're a Kamala Harris fan and you want to open a bottle of champagne and pop the cork, don't do it. Donald Trump is very much in this campaign,” he said in August.

“If the polls change between now and the final results, like they have in past years, Donald Trump will actually win,” Enten added.
